Science fiction polls

Sky One are currently running polls on their site in preparation for The Ultimate Sci-Fi Top Ten, and Red Dwarf is short-listed in two of the three top-tens.
Aliens
This is the vote that you can skip, as there are no aliens in Red Dwarf. Obviously.

Robots
At time of going to screen/print, Kryten is winning the robots poll by 41% beating the likes of the T-1000 (Terminator 2), Data (Star Trek: TNG) and R2D2 & C3PO (Star Wars).

Moments
You guessed it - it's the shrinking boxer shorts scene that we're voting for here.
Now, looking down the list of robots, I can't see a more deserving winner than good old Kryters. But I'm not too fond of voting for the shrinking boxer shorts scene as best sci-fi moment. I'm not denying that it's a ruddy good piece of comedy, but I don't believe it to be Dwarf's finest sci-fi moment at all. I'm swayed more to the 'Double Rimmer' scene of Future Echoes. Or better still, the excellent ending to Out of Time.

Because neither are listed, I've voted for Doc Brown connecting the cables in Back to the Future. (The bike chase in ET and "I am your father" in Empire Strikes Back were next on my list.)

The results will be shown on Sky One at 8pm on Monday 13th, Monday 20th and Monday 27th of September, and you can cast your votes here.
